Making a statement before he presented the items the Chinese ambassador expressed satisfaction to present the items on behalf of the All China Women Federation to the First Lady. He recalled the visit of the Vice President and delegation of the Federation to Sierra Leone on the invitation of the First Lady during which visit she donated sewing machines and agricultural tools. The visit he continued has strengthened the relationship between the women of China and Sierra Leone. The Chinese Ambassador reiterated that in the thirty nine years of diplomatic relationship between China and Sierra Leone much have been achieved during the term in office of President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma as the Head of State. His Excellency Qiu Shao Fang lauded the First Lady for her initiative to improve the welfare of women and children. On this note the Chinese Ambassador pledged the support of China to the office of the First Lady. On behalf of the Government, the people and staff of the office of the First Lady Her Excellency Mrs Sia Nyama Koroma thanked the All China Women Federation for the items donated to the women of Sierra Leone.
The items which include computers, printers, and sewing machines were distributed to FAWE, Harford Secondary School for Girls, Methodist Church Skill Development Center, GISA Vocational Trading Center, and Njala. The closing courtesies came from the Director of FAWE Mrs Irelen Hancilles who thanked the All China Women Federation for the gift. |
ALL CHINESE WOMEN FEDERATION DONATES TO FIRST LADY...
She recalled her visit two years ago to China on the invitation of the All China Women Federation which took her and the delegation to different sites in China. The First Lady described the women of China as very determined and loving. She reiterated that she was not surprised at the items donated and assured the Chinese Ambassador that the gifts would be used for the purpose for which the items were presented to the First Lady.
